RAWALPINDI: Five terrorist
s were killed and 11 apprehended during search and intelligence-based
operations across the country, Inter-Servic
es Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.
ISPR, the military&rsq
uo;s media wing, stated that security forces conducted 29 cordon and search
operations and 12 intelligence-based
operations in parts of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and FATA.
During an intelligence-based
operation in the Gawak area of Mand, Balochistan, five terrorist
s were killed. Two FC official
s were also injured in the
operation.
Deputy Commissioner Kech Sirmad Ali Khan said they were involved in a series of terrorist activities in the area, he claimed.
In KP, a terrorist plot was foiled by t
he Frontier Constabulary in Bar Qambar Khel, Bara in Khyber Agency. During the
operation, two terrorists, Shahid and Abdul Raziq, who were planning a major terrorist attack based on foreign directives, were apprehended, the ISPR revealed. A large quantity of explosives was also recovered from the terrorists.
